Malkia is a film director, editor and photographer from the Democratic Republic of Congo.
Malkia’s work involves capturing the external and interior worlds of artists from the African diaspora and their challenges within the European Context. Through photography and video, her lens strive to see how intimacy helps us understand our surroundings. She has collaborated with a variety of creatives and produced a couple of visual-political content including both the 2019 FICKIN Festival and the 2020 ‘’Elles tournent’’ nominee « Ata Ndele ».
Along side Uzo Madu, she directed and produced a monthly segment titled «What’s in it for Africa?» centred around African voices and raised critical conversations examining the relationships between the European Union and Africa. She currently lives in Brussels, Belgium where she curates aesthetic content and collaborates with different platforms such as “De wereld Morgen”, “For all Queens !”, “Sisterhood Collective” and “Anaku”.
